Where is Gali?

A little clone of the content of my LJ, just in case it ever goes down for good.

Gloves and thick socks are key.

When I set out on my bike ride yesterday there were many things I did not expect, like the frozen ice fields on some pathways. Below is an example of a spectacular one but most of them were just decent sized puddles that froze overnight. I tried my CX skills on them and I think I will have to put off participating in the world cup for another year or two! It’s quite freaky when you try to go right on top of a frozen puddle and it’s actually formed of multiple frozen layers and the top ones break under the wheel and you’re stopped right in your movement. Let’s just say that after my first attempt at this I figured it would be much saner and safer to just get off the bike and walk through the tougher bits.

(I like to think that this is my Helkama telling me it’s not impressed with my skills.)

But hey, look at that sunshine we’re slowly getting!

A lot of the sea is still frozen though.

(This one is called, “I would make a damn good cyclo-tourist, must look into that later on”.)

You can easily see where there are exit pipes. The state of the water is not the same.
