| In the “on se couchera moins bĂȘte ce soir” category, we have… mimosa!
I learnt this morning that what we call “mimosa” around here doesn’t belong to the Mimosa family. It is indeed part of the Acacia family and it’s proper name is Acacia dealbata aka Silver Wattle. The Mimosa family is native to Mexico, Central America and South America… while, like we all know, our yellow mimosa is from southeastern Australia. Oh, and the Mimosa family rarely has bright yellow flowers and it’s a nuisance and yeah, not as awesome. Meanwhile, in the rest of the garden…
I walked by a house that’s slightly lower on the hill yesterday and their tree is just 90% yellow fluffiness and 10% green leaves. I could have married it right there on the spot. Have I ever mentioned that mimosa is my favourite non-ski related thing about this time of year?
