Remember how I said that I was going to try to post all of my photos and stories from Shanghai before my trip to Marseille for Easter? And then I said that it was going to be before the cruise to Stockholm? And then it turned into my trip to Switzerland? Well, I’ve finally gone through all of my photos and I will be making four Shanghai related posts before tomorrow night and like that I’ll get it over with before Korea! Three more days till endless amounts of kimchi!
Phew!
Now let’s start with some food and the Yuyuan Garden area.
I have to admit that the Beijing duck was a sure winner among our group! We had it a couple of times and each time it was served differently, so we got to experience it all!
These were sweet sticky cakes. They were rather amazing! I wish I knew how to make things like that at home.
The photos from the Gardens turned out few and none came out well. It was raining cats and dogs and it was the end of the New Year (iirc) festivities… after about half an hour we decided to check out the local backstreets and that’s where we fell on some amazing shops and the rest is history!
I just realised when resizing this that you can see my reflection, I’m the person with her feet spread and obviously holding something shiny.
One of the problems for our group was that there were quite a few vegetarians (no fish, no meat and one also didn’t eat eggs). After a while we found this pseudo-Italian place that has vegetarian curries and pasta, it was rather lovely! I can’t remember what their sign read but it was hilarious for some reason.
At that place they served the beer in tiny little bottles. So cute!
^YAY PHOTOS!
